Black Lightning is a new motion picture from Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Day Watch, The Irony of Fate 2 and Wanted). It is the first Russian Superhero film which recounts the tale of an ordinary student who turns into a mysterious enemy of evil and defender of his city.
The picture is set in our time. The main character, 20-year-old Dima Maykov, gets an old car (Volga-21) as a gift from his father, only to discover that the car can fly like a fighter plane. He soars aimlessly over Moscow traffic jams, carefree and enjoying himself until one day disaster forces him to see the world in a new light.
This New Year, he must defend those dear to him in the battle against evil.
